The Wolverine R celebrates our 40th Anniversary dressed in a new Forester stock.

With the success of the Wolverine R, since its launch last year, it was only fitting to dress the rifle for our celebratory year. The Forester stock was first introduced on the Huntsman Forester Limited Edition in 2012. The Wolverine Forester Limited Edition followed in 2015 with 170 rifles available. They both were a tremendous success. Now to celebrate our heritage we bring the Wolverine R in a Special Edition Forester Stock. Not limited by numbers but only time, this gun will be available in this guise until the end of October.
With its distinctive thumbhole stock, the R model has a sidelever cocking system that can be switched from right-side operation to left, further building upon the ambidextrous design of the stock. This special edition has the same regulator as the standard Wolverine R, developed specifically for Daystate in partnership with the renowned Dutch regulator specialist, HUMA-AIR. With a greater number of shots returned per fill-up a sub 12ft/lb user can enjoy a tin of pellets between visits to their air supply, but a huge advantage on the Hi-Power and 303 models, which will return around 200 per cent more shots than the standard Wolverine 2 courtesy of the regulator’s highly efficient use of air.

The stunning Wolverine R C-Type air rifle from Daystate

Side lever cocking + Huma Regulator

Offering all the time-proven attributes of the Wolverine 2 and now including the availability of a grey laminate or walnut thumbhole stock, the new R model swaps a cocking bolt for the in-vogue sidelever cocking system, increasing yet further the appeal of this very versatile PCP. Additionally, the sidelever can be switched from right-side operation to left, further building upon the ambidextrous design of the thumbhole stock.

And, of course, that R suffix denotes this rifle’s piece-deresistance - its regulator.

You may order this gun online, however due to the VCR act, we are not permitted to ship directly to you, we can however ship to a registered firearms dealer local to you. Once we receive your order, we will contact you to arrange which registered firearms dealer you would like the gun to be shipped to.

Developed especially for Daystate in partnership with the internationally renowned Dutch regulator specialist, Huma, the measured air control that it brings to the R’s action brings a host of benefits. Not only does it maximise shot-to-shot consistency as the rifle cycles through its usable air charge, but downrange accuracy is also improved. Furthermore, a greater number of shots are returned per fill-up - a big advantage on the Hi-Power and 303 models, which will return around 200 per cent more shots than the standard Wolverine 2 courtesy of the Huma’s highly efficient use of air.

If the Wolverine 2 is a marvel of mechanical PCP technology, then the Wolverine R has to be the pinnacle.

Daystate Wolverine 2 B-Type for sale at McAvoy Guns

Almost every part of the rifle has seen some small and subtle improvements over what has already proven to be a successful and reliable design. A new core valve assembly taken from the Pulsar and Renegade, which improves airflow for a much larger shot count as well as making the rifle easier to service. Changes to the breech block design gives a more family look - quite like the design used on the highly popular Daystate Pulsar. A completely new stock from stock maestro Gary Canes’ Techwood Design studio, surely the most famous airgun stock designer in the world - being the chief architect here, with some further input from the chief designer of Minelli. While they were about it the 3D butt pad used on the Pulsar was incorporated to add a new level of adjustability.

The latest Wolverine2 is slightly shorter than the original version and the centre of gravity moved rearwards for a better balance. Here, Daystate are making an already good design better as well as easier to shoot. Improvements incorporated into the latest batches of the match-grade German Walther barrel are included in the new rifle, with Daystates’ Tony Belas joking that barrel costs of their high end rifles are getting close to the total manufacturing cost of some of the more eastern airgun manufacturers. Accuracy on a Daystate rifle is always a given, but the Company are keen to build on this wherever possible.

In all a superb upgrade to a gun that was already a delight to shoot.
